Other Children's Ministries

During the Week

  • Hornby under 5’s Playgroup - Catherine (Co-coordinator), Julie (Administrator) and Debbie (Supervisor) are the contact people for playgroup. Playgroup, for caregivers and preschoolers runs during term time on Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30 at the Reima centre. A $2.00 donation per family assists in covering the costs. Morning tea is provided.
  • Hornby mainly music meet on Thursdays at 10 -10:30am and 11 -11:30am in the Reima centre. It’s a 30 minute programme of music and dance for preschoolers and their caregivers with morning tea provided. The morning tea is shared between the two sessions at 10.30. Cost is $2.00 per family.   • The Learning Centre provides homework tuition for Y3+ school age children and runs with the support of qualified teachers during term two and term three. Children are enrolled for 5 weeks and matched with the appropriate tutor according to needs. Cost is $15 per student. For more information see Catherine.
  • ICONZ is a programme for boys aged 8-11 years designed to develop confidence in a range of pursuits and to promote the advancement of Christ’s kingdom among boys. It is held during term time on a Thursday from 6:30pm. For more information check out this link: www.iconz.hornby.org.nz

  • Bible in Schools. Dulcie is the contact person for BIS. The schools that Dulcie arranges BIS for are Gilberthorpes, South Hornby and Templeton. See her for details about this awesome programme in the local area and opportunities for service.
