Rock of Life

To pastorally support our children and families we are encouraging our leaders to phone the children in their group once a term. This is not meant to be intrusive, just a friendly chat to encourage their faith.

• Catherine and Brent - We have the honour of leading children’s ministry at HPCC. Emma and Caitlin are our children. Catherine is an Occupational Therapist with a background in health and education, and completed her Ministry Internship BCNZ in 2004. Catherine has been employed as the director of children’s ministries since 2007. Brent has experience working with children and young people though YWAM, camps, Mainly Music and Bible in Schools. He is studying towards a Bachelor of Ministry full-time.
• Malcolm and Maria - We arrived at HPCC in 2000 from Tauranga. Our children are James, Sally and Phillipa and you may see our dog Crystal running around sometimes! Maria has a background in teaching mathematics. Malcolm is a computer programmer (specializing in avionics) and a whiz table tennis player. Maria enjoys golf and great coffee. We have a real passion for children and love being involved in drama. We lead ‘Early Birds’.
• Teresa, Jonathan, and Leanne - This is the team that lead Junior Rock of Life.
• Douglas and Gay - Leaders for year 1 and 2 ROL.
• Rosemary and Jeffrey - Leaders for year 3 and 4 ROL.
• Christine and Glen - Leaders for year 5 and 6 ROL. Sean, Catherine and Brent will also be leading this group.
• Amy is the leader for 5.45 Kids which runs during the evening service. She is currently training to become a primary school teacher.
• Roesjka, Emma, Kylie and Jodie are the supervisors of the crèche ministry.
• Charlotte is the supervisor for the 9am service crèche, as well as being the contact person for Hornby mainly music which meets on a Thursday morning.
• Debbie is the supervisor for the Hornby Under 5's Playgroup which meets on a Tuesday morning during term time.
